I had a lunch date with my fellow foodie @funkeefoodee (follow her on Instagram). We ate at the Atrium Café located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago in Oakbrook, Illinois. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was Jiame. S/o to him for providing us with amazing service! He informed us about the different foods and allergies they cater towards, along with how the food is made fresh so substitutions were possible! I loved this since it broadened our choices. The atmosphere itself was quiet, warm, and inviting.
Appetizer: Tuna Tostadas -8/10
We started off with an appetizer. We ordered the tuna tostadas. It’s fried wontons, micro greens, and mango avocado relish. I liked how tuna steak was used and it was really fresh and colorful. However, I thought that it needed more of a kick, more flavor. I would give this appetizer an 8/10.
Entrée: Street Tacos -7/10
For the entrée we decided to go with street tacos. We substituted the tilapia with chili glazed shrimp- it’s lightly breaded shrimp with spicy cream sauce with avocado salsa. The tacos came with a side of tortilla chips. This was definitely a good choice! It had the heat we were looking for. They used the authentic corn tortillas. Personally corn tortillas are not my favorite. I would give this a 7/10.
Dessert: Bread Pudding -6/10
By this point our stomachs were full. But there’s always room for dessert! We decided to go with the bread pudding that was made out of cookies. This was my first time trying bread pudding. It was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the fact that it was sweet, chocolaty, warm, and the vanilla ice cream complemented it really well. But, I found it to be a little too mushy. I gave this a 6/10.
Overall it was a wonderful experience! Jiame our waiter was very informative and friendly. I would give a 10/10 for service! He even asked us to come back for breakfast. They have an omelet bar and are planning on serving cold oatmeal. The best part is that it’s located inside a hotel, the DoubleTree Hotel. If you are in the area, I would recommend stopping by!
